Columbia, S.C. –
South Carolina wide receiver Tim Frisby will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday night on NBC.
“This is a great honor to be invited as a guest on The Tonight Show,” Frisby said. “It means a lot to represent the University of South Carolina and all my teammates on a show that is seen by so many people and I am flattered for the opportunity.”
A 20-year Army veteran and father of six children, the 39-year-old Frisby made national headlines when he checked in and participated in the Gamecocks’ win over Troy on September 25. Though the NCAA does not keep age records, Frisby is believed to be the oldest player ever to play in a NCAA Division I-A football game.
Frisby’s story has been well-documented, as he has already appeared along with John Travolta and Pearl Jam on The Late Show With David Letterman, on ESPN’s Cold Pizza, Live On CNN and on ESPN’s College Football GameDay. His story has generated a tremendous amount of interest in Hollywood, as more than a dozen requests for his story have come in from major motion picture studios and production companies.
Following his appearance on The Tonight Show, Frisby will return to Columbia and begin taping on Wednesday for a lengthy piece that will air next week on NBC’s Today Show.
