Columbia, S.C. – The Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday that South Carolina freshman Jessica Josker is the SEC Softball Player of the Week. Josker hit .520 with 13 hits in 25 at bats, including three home runs. She also scored seven runs, had 10 RBIs and was named to the Buzz Classic all-tournament team.

The San Jacinto, Calif. native has hit a home run in her last three games, including her first career home run in the game against South Dakota State. She has reached base safely in 12 consecutive games and scored at least one run in all but one game this past weekend. Josker has also scored a run in 10 of her last 14 games and recorded an RBI in all but one game this past weekend. Josker recorded multi-hit games in five of the six games at the Buzz Classic and currently has a seven-game hitting streak, a season high.

This is the first honor this season for a Gamecock player. Last year, USC had two players earn this honor, Samantha Jennings (2/9) and Nancy Crane (3/22).
