The University of South Carolina women’s tennis team is ranked 24th in the current ITA tennis poll. The Gamecocks, 7-3 overall and 2-2 in the SEC will travel to Clemson to face the 19th ranked Tigers on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Clemson enters the match with an overall record of 9-6, and 3-1 in the ACC.

The Gamecocks lead the overall series 21-18 and have won six of the last nine with the Tigers. The Tigers took the regular season match last season in Columbia 4-3 and a 4-1 win against Carolina in the 2004 NCAA Tournament in Clemson.

After facing the Tigers, the Gamecocks will have eight days off before their next match on March 25th at 2:00 p.m. against Alabama in Columbia and then will host Auburn on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Carolina’s remaining schedule are all ranked in the ITA Tennis poll with the highest ranked team being Georgia at #2. The SEC has 11 of the 12 schools ranked as high as 55th in the country with six teams ranked in the top 25, four in the top 15, and three in the top six.
