NCAA West Regional Notes Format

The South Carolina men’s golf team flew to California on Monday, May 16, for the 2005 NCAA West Regional, which will be played at Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif., May 19-21. While adjusting to the time change on Tuesday, the Gamecocks spent a few hours touring the sights in San Francisco.

Senior Alex Hamilton, redshirt junior West Streib, junior Robert Svensson, junior Eirik Johansen and freshman Mark Anderson will compete for South Carolina, which is the No. 8 seed in the Regional. The Gamecocks are making their 10th straight appearance in NCAA Regional play under head coach Puggy Blackmon.

The NCAA Regional tees off on Thursday, May 19. Carolina’s tee time is set for Noon on Thursday and 7:57 a.m. on Friday (times are Pacific). The Gamecocks are paired with BYU and Southern Cal and will play 18 holes on each of the first two days.
