Columbia, SC – In conjunction with South Carolina’s Sept. 1 kick-off of the 2005 season, ESPN’s SportCenter will broadcast live from Columbia on Sept. 1. SportsCenter’s appearance in Columbia is part of ESPN’s 50 states in 50 days tour this year. ESPN selected Columbia as its center point in the state of South Carolina.
The Central Florida game on ESPN on Sept. 1, the kick-off of the Steve Spurrier era at Carolina, will be broadcast live at 7:30 pm. ESPN will also do their pre-game show live from Columbia.
Details will be forthcoming on location and talent, but fans are welcome to attend the tapings.
Carolina has hosted ESPN Game Day twice during the football season (Florida game, 2002 and Georgia game, 2004), but this is the first time it will host Sportscenter.
