The first ranking of the 2005-06 season were released on Tuesday by the ITA Tennis office. The University of South Carolina women’s tennis team totaled three players on the list. Christyn Lucas, was the highest ranked Gamecock at 64th while Laura Ganzer was at 108th followed by teammate Danielle Wiggins at 122nd.

Lucas finished the 2005 season ranked 93rd in the nation while teammate Laura Ganzer was ranked as high as 101st in the country last season. Danielle Wiggins was injured for majority of the 2004-05 season after having a very successful 2004 campaign where she was ranked as high as 36th in the country and made the NCAA Championships as an individual.

Carolina’s first tournament will be the Furman Fall Classic which will be held from September 30th to October 2nd in Greenville, S.C.
