The 2005 Furman Fall Classic concluded Sunday with the singles finals. South Carolina took home two second place finishes and one fourth place finish. Gira Schofield and Natasa Vuckovic led the Gamecocks in competition with championship appearances, and Grace Blakely competed for a third place finish.

In the flight two finals, Gira Schofield was defeated by Federica van Adrichem of Clemson 3-6, 7-6(3), 7-5. Schofield took second place in the flight two championships. In the flight three finals, Natasa Vuckovic fell to Maria Brito of Clemson 6-0, 6-0. Vuckovic took home second place in the flight three championships. Grace Blakely took home fourth place in the flight five draw, in which she fell to Bonnie Baird of Furman 6-4, 6-2.

Laura Ganzer and Justine Walsh were victorious in their matches of the day. Ganzer defeated Daniela Alvarez of Clemson 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. Justine Walsh defeated Katelyn Bevard of Penn State 7-6, 6-2.

Both freshmen, Schofield and Vuckovic, competed in their first intercollegiate tournament, in which they made it to a championship match. Grace Blakely also helped to lead the Gamecocks.
