South Carolina defensive end Orus Lambert has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week for his efforts in the Gamecocks’ 14-10 win over Arkansas on Saturday.

Lambert, a 6-2, 246-pound senior from Jacksonville, Fla. tallied five tackles, including four solo stops, and an interception in the win at Arkansas. His interception came in the third quarter and set up the Gamecocks’ winning touchdown, which was scored one play later. Lambert also stopped an Arkansas quarterback sneak on a fourth-and-one play that turned the ball over deep in Razorback territory, setting up Carolina’s first touchdown.

Lambert and the rest of the Gamecocks are preparing for Saturday’s final SEC showdown of the season when they host the Florida Gators at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.
