ESPN, in conjunction with the Southeastern Conference and the University of South Carolina, will televise Saturday’s Carolina-Clemson football game, it was announced today. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.
The game will be televised throughout the state of South Carolina on ESPN2. It will also be available on DirecTV, the DISH Network, ESPN’s GamePlan pay-per-view and ESPN GamePlan on-line for fans across the country. Dave Pasche will provide the play-by-play, with Rod Gilmore and Trevor Matich serving as the analysts.
“We have worked diligently with ESPN and the conference office to come to this resolution that is in the best interest of our fans,” said Carolina Athletics Director Eric Hyman. “After the success that both teams enjoyed last weekend, ESPN re-visited its decision to not televise the game. Through a cooperative effort with ESPN, the SEC and the University, we were able to get the game televised on ESPN2 throughout the state of South Carolina.”
The South Carolina Gamecocks have won five straight games to improve their record to 7-3 on the season. They are ranked 19th in the Associated Press poll and 21st in this week’s USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll. The Clemson Tigers have won four of their last five games to improve their overall record to 6-4.
