COLUMBIA, S.C. – In the opening day of the XV FINA Diving World Cup, former Gamecock All-American Allison Brennan finished seventh on the 1-meter board, in Changshu, China Wednesday. Brennan, tallied a final score of 273.75, while USA teammate Christina Loukas finished eighth with a score of 273.70. With the finish, Brennan ranks seventh in the World.

China went 1-2 as Guo Jingjing scored 323.70 for the gold and Wu Minxia won the silver at 301.10. Canada’s Blythe Hartley claimed the bronze medal with a score of 300.25. Brennan, a Huntington Beach, Calif. native, finished runner-up to Hartley at the 2006 NCAA Championships in March.

The FINA Diving World Cup runs through July 23.
