Columbia, S.C. – Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina swimmer Steven Luckie recently represented Team USA in the Aquathlon World Championship held in Lausanne, Switzerland on Aug. 30. The sophomore finished seventh in the men’s 20 – 24 age group, and 25th overall.

The event included a 2.5 km run, a 1 km swim, and a 2.5 km run. Luckie completed the 6 km distance in 32:31. The Gamecock freestyler qualified for the Lausanne Aquathlon by winning the National Aquathlon in Kansas City, Mo. on July 6.

A Columbia native and Spring Valley High School graduate, Luckie won the 2005 South Carolina State High School Championship in the 500 freestyle, he was also the High Point Winner at the Championship.
