Nov. 5, 2006

The South Carolina at Florida football game, set for Saturday, Nov. 11, will be televised nationally on CBS, the Southeastern Conference announced today. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.

The Gamecocks (5-4, 3-4 SEC) will be facing their third consecutive nationally-ranked opponent when they take on the SEC Eastern Division champion Gators (8-1, 6-1 SEC). USC dropped a 31-24 decision to eighth-ranked Tennessee a week ago, then lost a 26-20 contest to 12th-ranked Arkansas last night. They will put their school-record five-game SEC road winning streak on the line when Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier makes his first appearance as an opposing head coach at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field. The Gamecocks are winless in 10 previous trips to “The Swamp” in Gainesville, but pulled off a 30-22 upset win last season when the teams met in Columbia.
