Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina Gamecocks had another impressive day at the Ohio State Invitational on Saturday December 2. The Gamecock women lead the meet with 554 points. The meet host Ohio State is in second, Utah is in third, and Iowa is in third. The Gamecock men are in fourth with 368 points. Minnesota, Ohio State, and Notre Dame fill the top three positions, respectively.

The Gamecocks collectively earned four victories and ten top fives. Sophomore Amanda Dunnigan won the 400 IM with a time of 4:18.28. Dunnigan set a NCAA b-standard time with her victory, as well as setting a meet record. Junior Kyle Cormier won the 400 IM on the men’s side. Senior Lindsey Tiberio won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.97, a NCAA b-standard time, and the pool record. Junior Dan White also earned a b-standard time in the 200 freestyle.

The Gamecock relay teams also had strong performances. The woman’s 200 medley relay team of Carly Hensel, Christy Williams, Lindsey Tiberio, and Sharntelle McLean won, as well as earning a meet record and an NCAA b-standard time. The women’s 800 medley relay team of Christy Williams, Kassy Kugler, Stephanie Margalis, and Amanda Dunnigan finished second. The men’s 800 medley relay team of Dan White, Christian Robledo, Colby Mack, and Kyle Cormier also finished second and earned an NCAA b-standard time.

The Ohio State Invitational will wrap-up Sunday afternoon.
