For the second straight week a USC women’s runner has been named the SEC Runner of the Week after junior Natasha Hastings high-level outdoor opener last weekend at Arizona. Hastings will compete for USC this weekend at its own home meet on Sat., March 31 in the Weems Baskin Sprint Relays.

Hastings won both the 200m and the 400m at the Jim Click Shootout to open her outdoor season. She posted a pair of regional qualifying times, turning in a 23.01 in the 200m and a 51.02 in the 400m

Her 400m time is the world leader thus far this spring and the fastest collegiate time this season, while the 200m mark is the nation’s second fastest time.

Hastings also ran a leg of the 4×400-meter relay team that finished first, posting a regional qualifying mark of 3:33.89. That time is the second fastest in the country this year.

Hastings set the collegiate record indoors this season when she won the 400m NCAA title. She was also a member of USC’s NCAA champion 4x400m relay.
