Columbia, SC – On a chilly, misty day, USC won nine events – four women’s and five men’s – in the final outdoor track meet of the year on USC’s campus. In addition to the wins, USC’s Faraign Giles (400m) and Trier Young (100m hurdles) bettered their NCAA regional qualifying times. USC travels to Athens, Ga., this weekend for the Spec Towns Relays.
Faraign Giles improved her NCAA regional qualifying time in the 400m, crossing the line as the winner at 53.87.
Nick Lytle notched a win in the 100m with a time of 10.76 and Ronnetta Alexander won the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.65. Trier Young was hot on her heels at 13.68, bettering her own NCAA qualifying time to finish as the runner-up.
In the field events, USC’s Aaron Searles (21′ 8 ½) and Eddie Stoudemire (143′ 7 ½) won their events – the long jump and the javelin, respectively.
In the women’s field events, USC’s Chelsea Kaczmarek won the javelin with a toss of 103′ 8 ¾ and Sallie Gurganus won the pole vault, going across the bar at 11′ 6.
