EVANSTON, Ill. — South Carolina’s women’s tennis team dominated play on day one of the Wildcat Invitational in Evanston, Ill., on Friday. The Gamecocks won all four singles matches and took three of four in doubles.

In flight A singles, junior Natasa Vuckovic recorded a 6-2, 6-7, 6-0 win versus Manon Noe of Michigan State to reach the quarterfinals. Freshman Miljana Jocic also needed three sets to defeat Preethi Subramanian from Ole Miss 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 in flight B. Junior Suzanna Mansour was a 6-3, 6-0 winner against Wisconsin’s Morgan Tuttle in flight B, and senior Megan McGavock ran her fall record to 6-1 thanks to a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Anna Dzeva of Purdue in flight C.

Mansour and Vuckovic reached the semis of flight A doubles, first beating Kebler/Miliken of Michigan State 8-4 and then Rogers/Sperling from Minnesota 8-4. Jocic and McGavock upended Minnesota’s Chiarelli/Ferrazi 8-2 but then fell 8-6 versus Conill/Matzenauer of Northwestern in the quarters.
