COLUMBIA, S.C. — Sophomore strong safety Emanuel Cook has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week following the Gamecocks’ 21-15 victory at North Carolina on Saturday.
Cook intercepted two passes in the victory, the second of which came early in the fourth quarter with South Carolina ahead 21-9. North Carolina drove to the USC 25 yard line when Cook intercepted a pass at the six yard line on a trick play. They were the first two interceptions of his career. Cook also led the team with nine tackles, including eight solo stops, and had 2.0 tackles for loss, including a six-yard sack. He leads the team with 46 tackles on the season.
