COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina’s women’s tennis team won all three of its doubles matches on day one of the annual Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Columbia, S.C., on Friday.

In flight A-1, the 23rd-ranked duo of Gira Schofield and Ana Marija Zubori won 8-1 against Cruz/Rodezno from South Carolina State. Suzanna Mansour and Natasa Vuckovic upended Prinz/LaFortune from West Virginia 8-2 in flight A-2, and Megan McGavock and Miljana Jocic were 8-2 winners in flight B-1 against the Wofford duo of Baird/Smyers.

Due to persistent rain throughout the day, only one round of doubles matches were completed at the USC Indoor Fieldhouse. One round of doubles is scheduled for Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. followed by two rounds of singles. On Sunday, the final round of doubles is set for 8:30 a.m. followed by two rounds of main-draw singles matches and one round of consolation matches.
