AUBURN, Ala. – The South Carolina divers continued action at day two of the NCAA Zone `B’ Diving Championship on Saturday where freshman Taryn Zack collected Carolina’s top finish of the day, placing fifth in the women’s three-meter event. This marks her second top-five finish of the meet, as she captured first-place in Friday’s one-meter competition.

Zack advanced to the final round as one of the top 18 divers following preliminary competition. She tallied a six-dive total of 291.35 during prelims to enter the final round in fourth place. She followed with a strong showing in the six-dive final, posting a 281.10 for a collective, two-round score of 572.45 and fifth-place mark.

For the Gamecock men, juniors David Ovelson and Corry Christian each competed in the one-meter competition. Christian placed 15th in the preliminary round with a six-dive total of 293.25 to advance to finals. He followed with a six-dive mark of 276.75, for a combined 12-dive tally of 570.00 to finish 16th. Ovelson narrowly missed a spot in the final round, finishing 19th in prelims with a tally of 278.05.

The Gamecock divers conclude action at the NCAA Zone `B’ Championship on Sunday. Platform diving for the women begins at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, with the men’s following at 2 p.m.
