The University of South Carolina’s 2008 spring football practice dates have been revised, it was announced today. The Gamecocks are slated to open their spring drills on Friday, March 21 and conclude with the annual Garnet & Black Spring Game on Saturday, April 19.

All 15 of the spring practice sessions are open to the public. Most practices will take place at the Bluff Road practice fields. Scrimmages will be held at Williams-Brice Stadium. All dates and times are subject to change.

Persons with cameras will be permitted to shoot the first 15 minutes of each practice. After that, no still or video photography will be allowed during the practice sessions.

The Garnet & Black Spring Game will be held Saturday, April 19, beginning at 1 p.m. at Williams-Brice Stadium. The game will be televised on a taped-delayed basis by CSS with the first airing scheduled for 4 p.m. ET that same day. Admission to the spring game is free.

The Gamecocks, under fourth-year head coach Steve Spurrier, will return 54 lettermen, including 17 starters (six on offense, 10 on defense and one on special teams).

Here are the practice dates and times currently scheduled (all dates and times subject to change):

Practice No. 1: Friday, March 21 – 4:15 p.m.

Practice No. 2: Saturday, March 22 – 10 a.m.

Practice No. 3: Monday, March 24 – 7 p.m.

Practice No. 4: Wednesday, March 26 – 7 p.m.

Practice No. 5: Friday, March 28 – 4:15 p.m.

Practice No. 6: Saturday, March 29 – 10 a.m. (Scrimmage No. 1)

Practice No. 7: Monday, March 31 – 7 p.m.

Practice No. 8: Wednesday, April 2 – 7 p.m.

Practice No. 9: Friday, April 4 – 4:15 p.m.

Practice No. 10: Saturday, April 5 – 10 a.m. (Scrimmage No. 2)

Practice No. 11: Monday, April 7 – 7 p.m.

Practice No. 12: Wednesday, April 9 – 7 p.m.

Practice No. 13: Friday, April 11 – 4:15 p.m.

Practice No. 14: Monday, April 14 – 7 p.m.

Practice No. 15: Saturday, April 19 – 1 p.m. (Garnet & Black Spring Game)
