South Carolina’s Brandi Cross won the 400m with a season-best 53.02 bettering her own NCAA regional time and teammate Jason Richardson ran the top collegiate time this season in the 110m hurdles at the 2008 International Friendship & Freedom Games on the campus of North Carolina A & T University. The Gamecocks had their finest showing this season, bettering 10 NCAA regional times.

USC’s women placed as the runner-up in the 4x100m relay with a season-best time of 43.88, bettering its regional time set last weekend. The men’s team finished third in the 4x100m relay, bettering its own regional time of 40.25.

NCAA indoor runner-up Richardson ran a season-best 13.31 to finish third in the 110m hurdles. It’s the top collegiate time this year with a legal wind as he was the first collegiate. Johnny Dutch finished seventh in the prelims with a time of 13.91 and was later ninth in the race – the second collegiate. Both bettered regional times set earlier this season.

Shayla Mahan won her heat of the 100m with an 11.23, which would normally be an NCAA regional qualifier (she has already qualified at 11.53), but there was a wind of 5.1. Mahan followed up later to run an 11.31 – topping her previous legal time of 11.53. the 11.31 was the first collegiate in the race, but runner-up.

Gabby Glenn ran a personal best 11.47 to qualify for the regionals.

Ray Miley finished as the runner-up in the 400m with a time of 46.25, an NCAA regional time.

Trier Young finished seventh in the prelims of the 100m hurdles, but first as a collegiate with a season-best 13.68, also bettering regional time set earlier this year.

Kayla Blake was third in the high jump, crossing the bar at 5′ 4 ¼.

Jussi Heikkila was fourth in the 400m hurdles with a season-best 50.70, bettering his own NCAA regional time.
