The University of South Carolina athletics department has revised its policy in regards to seating at the new Carolina Stadium, it was announced today.

Fans will be allowed to move to any unused seat in the stadium after 4 ½ innings, with the exception of the lower box seats behind home plate (sections 1-5) and the suite and club levels. Anyone who holds a ticket for a particular seat would continue to have priority for that seat throughout the game.

“Whenever you move into a new venue like we have with Carolina Stadium, some issues will arise,” said Athletics Director Eric Hyman. “We knew it would be a work-in-progress when we moved into the new stadium and we asked our fans to be patient while we worked through those issues. After evaluating the seating situation over the first few weeks of the season, we concluded that this approach was best to keep our stadium fan-friendly while being sensitive to our season ticket holders. We want to thank the Gamecock Nation for its continued support of Ray Tanner and the baseball program and we look forward to Carolina Stadium providing a real home field advantage as we play our way towards Omaha this year and for many years to come,” added Hyman.

Fans attending a game at Carolina Stadium are encouraged to either visit the Guest Services booth, located on the concourse level of the stadium, or call 803-777-2556 if they encounter any problems while at the game. In addition, fans can also leave their suggestions, questions or concerns on a Gameday FanLine at 803-777-7784.
