The BC Lions Football Club has announced that non-import offensive lineman Justin Sorensen has agreed to terms on a contract with the team.

The Lions’ first pick (5th overall) in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft, Sorensen returned to the University of South Carolina last season to conclude his remaining year of eligibility. A native of Parksville, BC, Sorensen started all 13 games at the right tackle position for the Gamecocks in 2008, bringing his total of consecutive starts to 31.

“Justin has played football at a very high level and I am looking forward to seeing what he can contribute to our club,” said Lions general manager and head coach, Wally Buono.

“I am very pleased to begin my professional career at home in British Columbia,” said Sorensen. “I cannot wait to compete for a roster spot in training camp this June.”
