UVa Invitational Draws in PDF Format
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Gamecock women’s tennis team is set to compete at the UVa Invitational beginning Friday in Charlottesville, Va. The tournament consists of three 16-person flights of singles and three flights of doubles with eight teams in each.
Dijana Stojic and Miljana Jocic will compete in the A singles flight starting at 9 a.m. Stojic will take on Erin Vierra from the host Cavaliers, while Jocic faces Ole Dominion’s Nadine Fahoum. In the B flight, Adriana Pereira will square off with Lucy Dougherty from UNC Greensboro, and Rita Maisak will play Marlen Mesgarzadeh of William & Mary.
In doubles, Stojic and Jocic will take on Molly Scott and Mary Beth Winingham from Dartmouth in flight A. Maisak and Pereira play Marshall’s Kristina Koprcina and Kara Kucin in the B flight.
All four Gamecocks played in last week’s SEC Fall Coaches Classic in Nashville, Tenn. Jocic posted the best weekend by winning her singles flight en route to a 3-0 start this fall. Pereira went 2-1 in singles and doubles playing with Maisak. Maisak and Stojic had 1-2 records for singles, while Stojic was 2-1 with Josefin Andersson as her partner. Jocic did not play doubles in Nashville.
