Hey my name is April Borchardt, and I am a transfer from Northwest Florida State College originally from Prior Lake, Minn.. The transition was a little difficult coming from a small junior college to a big time university but I got by. I have also been pushing myself for excellence in the classroom as well as on the softball field.

I am enjoying my experience with South Carolina softball. It is great to work with our coaches and to learn their system of play. I have learned many things from each of them already, and I’m sure I will continue to everyday.

I am so excited for the rest of our fall games because there is always room to grow. I know we are headed in the right direction. Practices are going well, and everyone is working hard and motivating each other. When times are tough, that’s when we all have to stick together as a team to move forward and make our team stronger.

I know everyone was ready to get out on that field to play our first game. It was good to see where we need to improve to prepare us for the spring season. We will continue to work hard and prepare ourselves for our next game on Friday. I’m looking forward to having a great spring season as well. Go Cocks!
