EVANSTON, Ill.Ana Marija Zubori and Dijana Stojic from the South Carolina women’s tennis team reached the finals of their doubles flight Friday night at the Wildcat Invitational in Evanston, Ill.

Stojic and Zubori defeated the tandem of Koprivica and Sperling from Minnesota in their first match in flight A 8-6 and then defeated Miranova and Markovic of Wisconsin by the same score in the quarterfinals. The Gamecock duo then beat Milinkovic and Salkovic from DePaul 8-5 in the semis.

Also in flight A, Madeleine Saari-Byström and Anya Morgina upended Redesci and McKnight of DePaul in the round of 16 before losing to the No. 35-ranked team of Lui and Murray of Northwestern 8-6 in the quarterfinals. Saari-Byström and Morgina fell 8-1 to Oklahoma’s Eckel and Kalashnikova in a consolation match to finish the day.

In flight B, Josefin Andersson and Adriana Pereira had a bye in the first round and defeated Remynse and Kerr of Western Michigan 9-7 in the quarters. The Gamecocks lost in the semifinals 8-1 to Radan and Tsertsvadze of Oklahoma.

Singles matches for the Wildcat Invitational begin at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday.
