The University of South Carolina football team (6-5) worked out at the Bluff Road practice fields Wednesday afternoon. The Gamecocks will host Clemson (8-3) for the Palmetto State bragging rights on Saturday, November 28. Game time is set for noon at Williams-Brice Stadium and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

“We’ve had decent practices, we just need to go play the game as well as we can and try to play without any crucial big turnovers,” said head coach Steve Spurrier following the two hour session. “And try to get some (turnovers). We haven’t had many lately. In fact we haven’t had any lately. We’ve got to get ready to play the best we can, have a go at them and see what happens.

“This is the biggest game for us, no question about it,” noted the Head Ball Coach. “We all realize the importance of the ballgame and to play our best, that’s what we’ve got to concentrate on – getting prepared mentally, physically and emotionally to go out and play our best the entire game.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how we match up with (Clemson),” continued Coach Spurrier. “They’re a good team – no question about it. They’re playing well. They’re getting a lot of turnovers. They get some special teams scores. They’re a total team. We’ve got to play well if we’re going to beat them.”

The Gamecocks will go to the Epworth Children’s Home on Thursday for Thanksgiving dinner before returning to the practice fields in the afternoon. Happy Thanksgiving!
