University of South Carolina defensive tackle Ladi Ajiboye has been selected as a co-winner of the Southeastern Conference’s Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance in the Gamecocks’ convincing 34-17 win over Clemson on Saturday.
Ajiboye, a 6-1, 285-pounder from Riverdale, Ga., collected four tackles including three solo stops, and was instrumental in holding Clemson to just 48 yards rushing on 19 carries. Ajiboye and the Gamecock defense limited Heisman hopeful C.J. Spiller to just 18 yards rushing on nine carries.
Ajiboye shared the honors with Mississippi State defensive end Pernell McPhee.
The Gamecocks completed their regular season with a 7-5 record, including a 6-1 mark at home.
