The University of South Carolina football defensive staff has been recognized as “Game Changing Coaches” by FootballScoop.com following the Gamecocks’ 34-17 win over Clemson last Saturday.
Here’s what the website had to say about the performance:
Assistant head coach for defense, Ellis Johnson, again shows why he is one of the best in the profession. The South Carolina defensive staff helped the Gamecocks limit Clemson to 260 total yards in the 34-17 win. Clemson scored just one offensive touchdown and converted only 3 of 13 third-down opportunities. The Gamecocks forced three turnovers and held talented running back C.J. Spiller to 18 yards on nine carries. What a great job by Ellis Johnson and the entire South Carolina defensive staff.
