South Carolina assistant diving coach Allison Brennan won the bronze in the 3-meter springboard at the 2010 AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as the meet concluded on Sunday.

Brennan posted a score of 329.35 in the five-dive final to finish third behind Han Wang of China and Tania Cagnotto of Italy. She had earned her way into the finals with a fourth-place showing in Friday’s preliminaries, scoring 306.60 to move into one of two semifinals. She finished third place with that list, scoring 306.00 to edge out fellow American Kelci Bryant for one of the six available spots in the final. Brennan, a native of Huntington Beach, Calif., was the only American in the event final.

Last year, Brennan won the gold medal at this event, becoming the first American in eight years to win a gold medal at a Grand Prix event. For her efforts that week, she was named the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Athlete of the Month for May
