ALPHARETTA, Ga. – South Carolina finished its third tournament of the fall season on Tuesday, wrapping up play at the U.S. Collegiate Championship at The Golf Club of Georgia. The Gamecocks finished 15th at 919 (+55) after shooting 312 (+24) in Tuesday’s final round.

Freshman Blaine Woodruff led the way Tuesday with a 76 (+4) to finish the week at 228 (+12). Woodruff had two birdies on his round and made the turn at even par, but had a double-bogey and two bogeys along with six pars on his closing nine. Sophomore Dykes Harbin made a successful varsity debut, tying Woodruff at 228 (+12) after a closing 77 (+5) on Tuesday. Harbin made par on 10 of his first 11 holes with a bogey at No. 4 the only blemish, then went bogey-birdie-double on his next three holes to move to 3-over. Bogeys on the final two holes dropped him to 5-over for the day.

Logan Harrell finished with a 78 (+6) on Tuesday, improving by four shots over his second-round score. Junior Wesley Bryan and freshman Caulder Moore both shot 81 (+9) to wrap up their week.

Georgia Tech ran away with the team title by a whopping 27 shots, posting a team score of 836 (-28) to outpace runner-up UCLA at 863 (-1). Texas A&M finished third at 866 (+2). An even-par round was all Tech’s James White needed for a wire-to-wire win at 204 (-12), followed by Southern Cal’s T.J. Vogel (-9) and Texas A&M’s Jordan Russell (-6).

South Carolina will wrap up its fall season next week when it travels to the Kiawah Intercollegiate. The tournament runs Nov. 1-2 and will be played at Turtle Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island.
