The South Carolina football squad climbed one spot to 16th in the USA TODAY/Coaches poll and held steady at No. 18 in the Associated Press poll released today. The Gamecocks are ranked among the nation’s Top-25 squads for the 13th consecutive week.

The Gamecocks (9-3, 5-3 SEC) are coming off an impressive 29-7 win at in-state rival Clemson (6-6) in the annual Palmetto State showdown on Saturday. South Carolina, the SEC’s Eastern Division champion, features a 1,000-yard rusher in Marcus Lattimore and a 1,000-yard receiver and Biletnikoff finalist in Alshon Jeffery. It’s the first time in school history that Carolina has had a 1,000-yard rusher and receiver in the same season.

South Carolina will face SEC Western Division Champion Auburn (12-0, 8-0 SEC) at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, December 4 in Atlanta for the SEC Championship. Auburn is ranked second in the nation in both polls this week. It will be Carolina’s first trip to the SEC title game.
