The University of South Carolina football team has signed junior college offensive lineman Kaleb Broome to a National Letter of Intent, it was announced today.
Broome, a 6-6, 320-pounder, has spent the past two years at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Ga. He was recently named to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s first-team All-America squad. He played offensive guard during his first season at GMC, but moved to right tackle for his sophomore campaign, where he allowed just once sack all season. Broome is a 2009 graduate of Aiken (S.C.) High School where he played for the Hornets and head coach Cary Johnson.
Broome is expected to arrive on the Columbia campus when the spring semester begins in January. A Rivals.com three-star prospect, he also had a scholarship offer from East Carolina University. He will have three years to play two at South Carolina.
