COLUMBIA, S.C. –
For the second consecutive year, South Carolina’s softball team will have a game broadcast nationally thanks to the Southeastern Conference’s contract with ESPN.

The series finale at Arkansas has been chosen for an ESPNU telecast on Sunday, April 17, with first pitch now scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT from Bogle Park. That is one of 11 SEC regular-season softball games that will be shown on the ESPN family of networks. The outlet will also broadcast all seven games of the SEC Softball Tournament from the Ole Miss Softball Complex, with the championship game set for the original ESPN.

Last season, the Gamecocks played on ESPNU in a game at Kentucky, the first South Carolina softball game shown nationally under the new 25-year deal between the SEC and ESPN.

The Gamecocks start the 2011 season at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11 against Charleston Southern as part of the Palmetto State Showdown.
