COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Gamecock softball team kept busy last week, practicing, making appearances at a local school and at two big basketball games at Colonial Life Arena, and scrimmaging. What was their favorite activity? Let’s see what they said.

Samie Garcia: I liked the basketball games because the team was all together!

Kelley Dillon: I would have to say the basketball game on Thursday. I had a great time watching Tennessee and our women’s basketball team and participating in the halftime show with the Acrodunkers.

Chelsea Hawkins: My favorite would either be the basketball game, signing autographs, because its good promoting our team and meeting new people, especially the kids. Or our scrimmage because it’s always fun watching our team and what we can do and seeing all the good players we have and just putting everything together that we have worked on all year. Even though we played against each other, you kind of can’t get mad when someone knocks a home run against you because at the end of the day, that’s your teammate, and that’s what will win you ball game. So you kind of get mad because of the competitiveness but you also can’t help but to just turn around and smile.

Kylie Morin: The signing and the Kentucky game! We love interacting with our fans. We got called the prettiest women’s team at South Carolina. 🙂

Molly Brossart: Signing at the basketball game because it us really fun to get to have fun and interact with our fans.

Julie Sarratt: My favorite was our scrimmage (on Sunday). Seeing everyone’s improvements and how much we’ve grown as a team is very exciting as our season gets closer.

Carolyn Bryan: The scrimmage was awesome. Even though it was a little chilly, it was a great game and a lot of fun!

P.J. Fulmer: The community service would have been my answer, but the scrimmage most definitely was. It’s my last year and being on the field competing is what I love to do and getting to do that in practice is like waking up on Christmas morning to a bunch of presents.

Lauren Lackey: Scrimmage because I want to play!

Dana Hathorn: The basketball game was so much fun. It was fun to be in the school-spirited atmosphere and be recognized as a team in front of a lot of people. It gave us some pride to play for our team and school!

Ashley Chastain: My favorite was the basketball games because I love supporting fellow Gamecocks And the t-shirt throwing was awesome!

Kaela Jackson: It was a great weekend overall! The basketball games were a lot of fun, especially since we got to throw t-shirts and heckle the other teams! My favorite was the scrimmage though! Seeing how much we have progressed as a team was really exciting and fun!

Jackie Slawson: The bball game because we got to sign autographs and interact with fans. This was the first time in a long time the arena has been sold out, and it was fun being in there!!

Audrey Broyles: I enjoyed watching my teammates assist the slam dunkers at the women’s basketball game during halftime!
