COLLEGE STATION, Texas – South Carolina senior Matt Shuler has been added as a late addition to the men’s pole vault field at the NCAA Indoor Championships that will be held this weekend on the campus of Texas A&M University.

Shuler was informed late Wednesday that he has been added to the field after a scratch from another competitor that was already selected for the championships. The SEC bronze medalist was the first person left out of the initial NCAA bids with his top mark of 17’3 ¾ (5.28m) ranking 17th in the nation. The top 16 marks earned bids to nationals when the list was released Monday.

The men’s pole vault will be contested Friday at 5:30 p.m. (ET).

Shuler and his teammates will compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend, March 11-12, at the Gilliam Indoor Track Center in College Station, Texas.
