COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina continues its seven-game road swing on Tuesday night at Coastal Carolina. First pitch for the single game is set for 6 p.m. EDT at the Coastal Carolina Softball Field. Gametracker live stats as well as a live audio feed will be available at GamecocksOnline.com.

South Carolina looks to snap a five-game losing streak in the contest, with all five losses coming to ranked Southeastern Conference foes. The 16-12 Gamecocks are led by junior Lauren Lackey’s .385 batting average and freshman second baseman Dana Hathorn’s 20 RBI.

Coastal has a 14-12 record, including three wins over Atlantic Coast Conference schools but dropping its six most recent games. The pitching had gotten better for the Chanticleers before stuttering against Providence, Georgia Tech, Kansas and Lipscomb. Michelle Evans holds a 2.79 ERA in 52.2 innings and Ashley Bagwell has a 2.99 ERA in 79.2 innings. The Chanticleers have not played away from home since opening the season in the Palmetto State Showdown.

Brooke Donovan leads the CCU offense, hitting .295 while getting on base at a .367 clip. She’s stolen 11 bases in 13 tries. Cacia Pierre has hit for power, posting a .443 slugging percentage. Jessie Winans and Jazmin Daigle tie for the team lead with 13 RBI.

The Gamecocks are 47-6 all-time against the Chanticleers. That includes an 18-3 record in Conway. A doubleheader in 2006 marks the last two losses by the Gamecocks at CCU.
