COLUMBIA, S.C. –
Heavy rain in Richland County has forced the postponement of today’s scheduled softball game between South Carolina and USC Upstate at Beckham Field. A makeup date has not been scheduled as of now.

It’s the first rainout for the Gamecocks this season, 32 games into the season. Last season, South Carolina lost four games to the elements.

The Gamecocks return to action this weekend, hosting No. 1 Alabama in a three-game set. First pitch for Friday night’s contest at Beckham Field is set for 6 p.m. EDT, with Saturday scheduled for a 2 p.m. start. Sunday’s game is slated for a 12 noon first pitch.
