COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina will close its home softball schedule on Wed., May 4, with a non-conference matchup against Winthrop, with first pitch set for 7 p.m. EDT at Beckham Field.
The game replaces the March 30 contest against USC Upstate that was cancelled due to rain. The addition extends the last Gamecock home stand to nine games, with series against nationally-ranked Kentucky (April 22-24) and Florida (April 29-May 1) preceding the contest against the Eagles.
The game against Winthrop will be the rubber game of the season, as the Eagles and Gamecocks each won on the other’s home field in the first month of the season.
