COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina junior Rylan Ridenour has been named the SEC Male Diver of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Ridenour helped lead the Gamecocks to a convincing 179.5-116.5 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday in their home opener at the Blatt P.E. Center/Carolina Natatorium. The Lebanon, Ind., native cruised to a win on the one-meter springboard with a NCAA Zone qualifying score of 387.75, the highest score in the SEC this season. Ridenour finished second on the three-meter springboard with a Zone score of 372.60, which is the fourth highest score in the conference.

Ridenour has now earned SEC Diver of the Week honors three times in his career.

The Gamecocks return to action this weekend in their final meet against rival Clemson. The diving portion of the meet will be held on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Blatt P.E. Center/Carolina Natatorium. The teams will meet for the swimming portion on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Westside Aquatic Center in Greenville, S.C.
