The South Carolina Gamecocks returned to the Bluff Road practice fields Tuesday afternoon. The Gamecocks (7-2, 5-2 SEC) are preparing for their SEC finale against the Florida Gators (5-4, 3-4 SEC). Game time is set for noon on Saturday, Nov. 12. The game will be televised nationally on CBS. Carolina enters the contest ranked 15th in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY Coaches poll, and are 13th in the latest BCS Standings. The Gators are unranked.
Quarterback Connor Shaw (concussion) was able to participate in drills on Tuesday. However, safeties DeVonte Holloman (concussion) and D.J. Swearinger (sprained foot) did not practice on Tuesday.
Spur Antonio Allen also practiced on Tuesday after missing Saturday’s game at Arkansas with a sprained neck. “I had a little stiffness, but it was also like a sharp pain in the back of my neck,” said Allen. “I couldn’t go full speed and be able to hit people like I usually can. It’s getting better. Hopefully it continues to get better throughout the week so I can go out and play. It was very frustrating. We’ve got to put it behind us and worry about this week.”
The Gamecocks will return to the practice fields again on Wednesday.
