GAMECOCK FOOTBALL PRACTICE
November 10, 2011
Coach Johnson

The South Carolina Gamecocks worked out Thursday afternoon at the Bluff Road practice fields. The Gamecocks (7-2, 5-2 SEC) are preparing for their SEC finale against the Florida Gators (5-4, 3-4 SEC). Game time is set for noon on Saturday, Nov. 12. The game will be televised nationally on CBS. Carolina enters the contest ranked 15th in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY Coaches poll, and are 13th in the latest BCS Standings. The Gators are unranked.

Assistant Head Coach – Defense Ellis Johnson indicated on Thursday that safety DeVonte Holloman likely would not play on Saturday. Holloman suffered a concussion in last Saturday’s loss at Arkansas. Redshirt freshman Brison Williams will likely get the starting nod in place of Holloman.

Connor Shaw, Antonio Allen, D.J. Swearinger, C.C. Whitlock and Aldrick Fordham, who all have been nursing injuries this week, are expected to play.

The Gamecocks will hold their walk-thru on Friday afternoon in final preparations for Saturday’s noon contest.
