“FanFest” presented by the Gamecock Club returns to the annual Garnet and Black spring game for its second year on Saturday, April 14. Gamecock fans of all ages will be able to participate in activities around the stadium prior to the game and on the field of Williams-Brice Stadium following the game.

Gamecock fans will be allowed on the field through multiple field gates approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Garnet and Black Game and Coach Spurrier’s presentation of awards.

“We had a ton of fantastic feedback following the event last year so we wanted to improve on it and bring it back,” said the Director of the Gamecock Club Patrick McFarland. “After the most successful season in Carolina football history we are all extremely excited about 2012.”

The Garnet & Black Spring Game will begin at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

In addition to the previously mentioned activities and attractions, there will also be a 32-team cornhole tournament, the release of the official 2012 football poster, and a pregame kids’ event where select Gamecock players and staff will give motivational speeches.

New for the 2012 Fan Fest will be a pregame “Tailgate Competition”. Local celebrities will judge based upon creativity of tailgate, Gamecock spirit, and quality of food.

Gamecock Fan Fest presented by the Gamecock Club

• Field access

• Photo opportunities with trophies: Hardees Trophy (Clemson football victory), Capital One Bowl trophy, 2010/2011 Baseball National Championship Trophies, Women’s Soccer SEC Championship Trophy, Men’s Soccer C-USA Trophy

• Kids activities including face tattoos, bouncehouse, and a Gamecock football and cheerleader uniform station

• Field goal attempts

• Cocky and the cheerleaders

• Photos taken on the “Block C” at the 50-yard line

• Cornhole tournament- 32 teams, $20 entry per team

• Tailgate competition prior to the game

• Celebrities will judge on creativity, Gamecock spirit and quality of food

• Pregame kids event at 11 a.m. where select Gamecock players and staff will give motivational speeches

Cornhole Tournament

• 32 teams – 2 persons per team; $20 per team

• Entries will be based on a first-come, first-serve manner

• Tournament schedule will be disseminated the week of April 9th to the
participants

• First round matches will begin at 10:30 a.m.

• Sweet 16 will play on the field at Williams-Brice Stadium as Fan Fest begins

• Winning team gets official football helmets

Tailgate Competition

• Entries will be based on a first-come, first-serve manner

• Contestants will be set up on the northwest corner of the stadium parking lot

• Criteria: Creativity of tailgate setup, Gamecock spirit, and quality of food

• Access to begin setup will be at 9 a.m.

• Judging will begin at approximately 12:15 p.m.

• Winning team gets official football helmets
