Opening Statement…
I thought that Brian Johnson was really good for Florida tonight. He had good stuff, was able to locate pitches very well and had very nice rhythm. (It was) very difficult for us especially after the 5 run first they came out with. (Forrest) Koumas came out and I thought he had pretty good stuff having a live arm and striking (Nolan) Fontana out. Then had some control issues and (Mike) Zunino had the big blast and even then we had a lot of game left and I was hoping he would settle in and give us an opportunity. But they were really good tonight and they had some balls leave the yard the yard on us.(Nolan) Belcher gave us a couple of really solid innings but we were never really able to get anything going tonight.

On Forrest Koumas…
I thought he really had a live arm tonight. One other time this year the ball came out really good.Early in the game he had a good fast ball. He started the game with a strikeout looking on Fantana. And quickly they had that three run blast on us and got down real quick. You play a good team and leave a couple balls up and that’s what will happen. Did Koumas have enough notice to play tonight? I think he was prepared. It was one of the situations he knew what was going to unfold and I thought he was pretty excited about it. Like I said I thought he had good stuff tonight but I was encouraged by the way he went out there he just didn’t show up well tonight in the box score.

I felt pretty good coming out but they are a great hitting team and when I threw it in there they hit it

On starting tonight..
I looked as if I had to pitch yesterday then I was going to pitch like I have all year.

On tomorrow’s game…
It’s why we play a series and why they are ranked number one. Regardless what happened our first weekend I absolutely believe we can take this series. We played last night we were aggressive, we played good defense and the pitching was perfect. It’s what we expected they are a good team they aren’t going let us push them around.
