COLUMBIA, S.C. – The field and times have been set for the 2012 NCAA Baseball Regional in Columbia, S.C. at Carolina Stadium. South Carolina (40-17) is the No. 1 seed and No. 8 national seed and will face the No. 4 seed Manhattan (33-25). The No. 2 seed Clemson (33-26) will face No. 3 seed Coastal Carolina (41-17) The NCAA Regional will run from Friday, June 1 to Monday, June 4. This will be South Carolina’s 28th overall appearance in the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. South Carolina is the back-to-back defending national champion after winning the College World Series in 2010 and 2011. South Carolina has reached 10 College World Series as well as nine NCAA Super Regionals. South Carolina’s 13 consecutive trips to the NCAA Baseball Tournament (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) is the longest current streak of the 12 SEC schools.

This marks the 14th time in school history that the Gamecocks will host an NCAA Regional in baseball. Since the move to the Regional-Super Regional format, Carolina has hosted an NCAA Regional eight times (2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012).

A limited number of NCAA Baseball Regional booklets are now available to the general public. A booklet includes tickets for all games in the Regional, which will be held Friday, June 1, through Monday, June 4. Booklets are available for $77 each and are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fans purchasing the booklet will secure their actual seat locations at the time of the purchase.

Single game tickets for Regional games will go on sale Monday, May 28, at 10 a.m. Single game tickets will be sold for $15, but there is no guarantee on their availability.
