Oklahoma

  • The Sooners did not hit a home run in either contest against the Gamecocks after hitting at least one in eight of their previous 11 games. Oklahoma ranked second in the Big 12 this season with 36 homers.

South Carolina

  • South Carolina improves to 45-17 on the year.
  • The Gamecocks advance to their third straight College World Series.
  • The College World Series appearance is the sixth under head coach Ray Tanner and 11th all-time.
  • The Gamecocks have won a NCAA record 21 consecutive NCAA Tournament games.
  • Carolina has won 24 straight NCAA Tournament games at home, including a 13-0 mark at Carolina Stadium.

  • Junior Matt Price worked three scoreless innings and had four strikeouts to earn his 11th save of the season and the 41st of his career, which ties Georgia’s Joshua Fields (2005-08) for the SEC career record and moves him into a tie for eighth on the NCAA career saves list.
