Game time and television networks have been set for the first three weeks of the South Carolina Gamecocks’ football season, the Southeastern Conference office announced today.
The Gamecocks will open the 2012 season on Thursday, August 30, in Nashville, Tenn. against the Vanderbilt Commodores. That SEC opener will be televised on ESPN beginning at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT).
On Saturday, September 8, the Gamecocks will open the home portion of their season against the East Carolina Pirates. That contest will be part of the SEC Network package and will kick at 12:21 p.m. ET from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.
The first home night game of the season will take place on Saturday, September 15 when Carolina hosts the UAB Blazers. FSN will televise that contest which will kick at 7 p.m. ET.
The Gamecocks will officially begin fall practice on Friday, August 3. South Carolina is coming off its first 11-win season in school history along with its first Top-10 finish in the Associated Press poll.
