Former Gamecock and NFL defensive tackle Langston Moore has been selected as the sideline reporter for the Gamecock IMG Sports Network, it was announced today.
Moore was a member of the Carolina football team from 1999-2002, before embarking on an NFL career that included stints in Cincinnati (2003-04), Arizona (2005-06), and Detroit (2007-08). He was originally a sixth round pick by the Bengals in the 2003 NFL Draft.
“We are pleased to have Langston Moore join Gamecock IMG Sports Marketing,” said General Manager Liz McMillan. “His knowledge of the game, especially on the defensive side of the ball, and love for the Gamecocks make Langston the perfect complement to our broadcast team.”
Born July 17, 1981 in Charleston, S.C., Moore attended James Island Charter High School before graduating from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration. He has been a volunteer for the Frye Foundation and USAA Cares, and Home Town Huddle during his playing and post-NFL career. His father, Ken Moore, was a well-known radio personality in Ft. Wayne and Charleston.
