Seven Gamecocks have been recognized as either All-Americans or All-SEC performers, according to Phil Steele’s College Football publication and website, it was announced today.

Heading the list is sophomore defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who was named to the first-team All-America and All-SEC squads. Junior punt returner Ace Sanders was also a first-team All-SEC pick and made Steele’s second-team All-America unit as a punt returner.

Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Brandon Shell was selected to Steele’s first-team All-America Freshman squad.

In addition to Clowney and Sanders, senior center T.J. Johnson, senior defensive back D.J. Swearinger, junior running back Marcus Lattimore and senior defensive lineman Devin Taylor earned spots on the All-SEC teams. Johnson and Swearinger garnered spots on the second team, while Lattimore and Taylor were third-team selections.
