COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina men’s swimming and diving team is ranked No. 20 in the latest CollegeSwimming.com Endless Pools Top 25.
The Gamecocks have 23.5 performance points in the poll, which reflects the team’s top performances in meets during the last three weeks. South Carolina won its lone meet during that span by knocking off Duke on the road, 159-141.
“Our guys have once again gotten into the top 25 in a different poll this time around,” South Carolina head coach McGee Moody said. “We will continue to look toward the next few dual meets to solidify that end of season ranking and move on into the championship season.”
South Carolina is one of eight SEC teams ranked in the poll. Top-ranked Auburn, No. 2 Georgia, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 11 Missouri, No. 16 Alabama and No. 17 LSU join the Gamecocks in the rankings.
The points for the Endless Pools Top 25 are calculated using the average percentile rank of each team’s top twenty-seven swims in each meet. The Top 25 are ranked according on the basis of each team’s highest-scoring meet within the previous three weeks.
South Carolina returns to action on Friday at home against Florida State and Arkansas. The meet is slated to begin at 4 p.m. at the Carolina Natatorium.
